Sholayar Dam, or more specifically, the smaller Sholayar Dam, is more than 60 kilometres away from the town of Chalakudy. Because the dam has two reservoirs, the top and bottom are different. Tourists can visit the Upper Sholayar Dam, which is in Tamil Nadu. The Lower Sholayar Dam, on the other hand, is in Kerala and is not open to the public. People in the area depend on this draw, and the Sholayar forest is all around this dam.
