Karumadikuttan is 3 km from Alappuzha and is known for the big statue of Lord Buddha sitting down made of black granite. In Alleppey, it is a well-known Buddhist center. The statue of Lord Buddha, which was made between the 9th and 10th centuries, is a memory of Buddhism’s past. On the banks of Punnamada Lake in the backwaters, there is a huge, beautiful figure of Buddha. It is broken in half, and the Archaeological Survey of India is taking care of it. A story says that an elephant broke off the left side of the figure.
