Healthy & Glowing Face with Ayurveda

In Ayurveda, skincare has a lot to do with maintaining a good mind and body balance, and in turn, it is reflected on your skin. Everything is determined by the doshas in your body. The doshas are those internal entities that exercise control over one’s bodies. Based on that, the skin types are usually split into three types of categories of doshas: Vata, Kapha, and Pitta.

When one usually has a dry or rough texture on their face, they have the Vata skin type. Those with naturally oily skin are Kapha and when one gets sunburned or freckled easily are Pitta. One can also have combination skin. The best way to get a healthy and glowing face is to identify your skin type and get appropriate skincare.

Vata Skin Care

The primary aim of Vata skincare must be nourishment and rehydration. It is because Vata skin is especially sensitive to wrinkles and premature ageing. The skincare routine must include plenty of herbs and essential oils along with getting good sleep and mindful eating. Including greens and organic milk in your diet will provide nourishment to the skin, and sipping lukewarm water all day will provide hydration. Gently massaging one’s own face will provide the much-needed moisture. All face products should be gentle and moisturizing.

Kapha Skin Care

Kapha skin is prone to oiliness, which makes it thick in nature. To do complete cleansing, it is important to flush out the toxins, both internally and externally. Exfoliating the skin with a good clay mask twice a week is a good way to clean in-depth. Avoiding fried food and sweets and replacing diet with fresh juicy fruits will help reduce the oiliness of the skin. Exercising every day can also help reduce clogging and makes circulation better.

Pitta Skin Care

People with Pitta skin type have skin that is sensitive in nature and must ensure using products that are mild in nature and don’t have a harsh effect. One must use products that would prevent them from direct exposure to the sun. Using cooling herbal oils on the face will make it look refreshing. Pitta skin is internally warm, therefore all foods that might cause heat in the body should be avoided.

If an individual eats right, sleeps on time and gives enough physical activity to the body, good skin is automatically taken care of, regardless of the skin type.
