The Chalakudy River is the fourth-longest river in Kerala. It is the source of the famous Athirappilly Falls and Vazhachal Falls. After going through well-known places like Palakkad, Thrissur, and Ernakulam, the river flows into Tamil Nadu. The Chalakudy River is mostly known for its marine diversity. It has 98 species of freshwater fish, of which 35 are native to the Western Ghats and 31 are either vulnerable or severely endangered. Sitting by the river or taking a long walk along the boulevards are great ways to find peace.
