Sinusitis
This is a medical condition affecting the sinuses. The connection of hollow cavities around the nasal passages are sinuses. Cheekbones hold frontal sinuses of the forehead, maxillary sinuses, solenoid sinuses behind the nose and ethmoid sinuses between your ears.
The sinuses get swollen when there is inflammation and gets blocked with the fluid leading to infection. The sinus episode aggravates and lasts up to 12 weeks causing the discomfort.
Symptoms and causes of sinusitis
Sinusitis is caused by the infection, pollution, cold and allergy which are very common. Four stages of sinusitis are termed as the chronic, acute, sub-acute and infected.

Ayurveda has the imbalances of the two sub doshas called as sub dosha vata and prana vata. The major causes of sinus infection are the vata. These dosha imbalances lead to infections and lower your immunity level. The sinusitis treatment using Ayurveda includes the detoxification through Panchakarma, dietary changes, medicines and lifestyle modifications.
Ayurvedic foods for sinusitis
The Vata Kapha calming diet is suggested for specifying the Shleshaka Kapha and the Prana Vata. The patients must avoid the ice cream intake and cold drinks.
The foods which are more lighter to consume like Dalia and khichdi are recommended. Proper digestion is required for removing the toxins from your body, and organic fruits along with vegetables can be included in the diet.
Certain foods such as bell peppers, bananas, eggplant and tomatoes can be avoided as this can clog the sinuses. It is suggested to have regular meals for balancing the digestive imbalances.
Sinusitis remedies using Ayurveda
The first remedy
You have to boil flour glasses of water, add mint leaves, basil, two cloves and a piece of ginger. Make them cool down and sip this liquid throughout the day.
The second remedy
You have to grate a piece of ginger and take its juice. Consume this juice with honey at least four times a day or so.
The third remedy
Jal Neti which is considered as the Ayurvedic kriya removes the mucus and cleans your blockages. The regular use of this kriya would reduce the chances of getting sinus infection.
The verdict
